Grace Gorringe is a Human Resources leadership and organization development executive with significant experience and interest in the intersection of leadership, culture and employee engagement.  Grace started her career as a nurse, an education for which she is eternally grateful, both for the learning experiences and doors it opened for her.

Grace’s most recent position was with Mayo Clinic, where she led enterprise efforts in talent management, succession planning, and organization and leadership development.  While at Mayo Clinic, Grace was instrumental in leading the Commitment to Safety initiative and the development of TEM (Team-based Engagement Model), a learning system to engage work unit staff in building a culture of collaboration and safe behaviors.
Given the link between burnout and patient safety and quality of care, another key focus for Grace at Mayo Clinic was addressing physician burnout using a staff engagement strategy with targeted work unit interventions.  This organizational effort resulted in decreasing physician burnout by 7% over two years at Mayo Clinic, while burnout rose nationally 11% during that same time period.

Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, Grace served as the Director of Global Leadership and Talent Development for Medtronic, with responsibility for global leadership development initiatives, Grace was the recipient of the Medtronic Wallin Leadership Award, which recognized her efforts in talent development and advancing women and minorities in leadership.  Additional career experience includes working as a Senior Consultant for Quantum Performance Group in Minneapolis and a variety of learning and organizational development roles in several health care organizations.

Currently Grace is associated with the China-U.S. Medical Exchange, where she has presented and consulted with over 30 hospitals and academic medical centers in 12 provinces on areas of leadership development, culture and employee engagement.

Grace received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Science degree from University of Michigan.  Additionally, she holds Executive Education Certificates in Leadership from University of Michigan and The Wharton School.
